Wedding at The German Society of Pennsylvania

Back in September, I was asked to create a design for The German Society of Pennsylvania, an old restored building dating back to the 1830's.  The reception was in a large ballroom on the main floor, and the ceremony took place in a library on the top floor.  The collection in the library is the largest collection of German books in the world, outside of the German speaking countries.  This was truly a unique venue and I felt honored to be asked to step up to the challenge of decorating this space!

This romantic bridal bouquet was made of white hydrangea, white ranunculus, white freesia, creamy spray roses,  and accented with creamy astilbe.

The bridesmaid bouquets were made of white hydrangea,
amnesia roses (yes, these roses are a grey-ish purple!) and accented with white freesia.

The decorations in the library were simple, yet elegant.  White draping was hung to create an altar and small posies made of purple roses, cream astilbe tied with pewter ribbon were used to decorate the aisle.

These stunning centerpieces are made of a spray of white dendrobium orchids and white Thai dendrobiums.  They are perched atop a 3-foot glass trumpet vase and accented by several stems of baby's breath and lit from the bottom with LED light.

This romantic cake topper is made of purple roses, white ranunculus and accented with rhinestones!

This was one of the most unique weddings I've had the pleasure of working on.  The bride fell in love with these gorgeous purplish-grey amnesia roses and they added the perfect bit of color to a stunning wedding!

T Rose Bridal Show

This post has been a long time in the making but I finally have pictures from the T Rose Bridal Show.  I was asked to provide flower bouquets for the fashion show as well as a European  Flower Hat to be worn at the finale!  I was a little nervous, but am SO pleased with how everything turned out!

This gorgeous yellow and green bouquet is made of green hydrangea, green roses, yellow craspedia, yellow freesia, and green cymbidium orchids.

This pink and purple bouquet is made of hot pink roses, white hydrangea, pink astilbe, and purple calla lilies, and accented with rhinestone pins.  I love the contrast between the hard rhinestones, and the soft textures of all the flowers!

Tausha was so gorgeous in this dress....Her purple and green bouquet is made of purple stock, white hydrangea, purple lisianthus, and green cymbidium orchids.

This classic all white bouquet is made of white hydrangea, white spray roses, white freesia, and white Polar star roses.

This hat is my pride and joy.  It was created for the finale of the fashion show and made of white spider mums, gorgeous light blue cornflowers, white dendrobium orchids, and accented with rhinestone pins.  Tausha wore this hat SO well and looked as regal as a queen in this one-of-a-kind hat!

One of my favorite parts of the show was networking with other wedding vendors in the area and I met some really amazing people! Chantel, of Sun*Kissed Designs, creates beautiful custom wedding gowns. Tamika Josephs-Smith, of Diamond Event Services, does full-service event planning.  Tenisha, of Peggy Jay, creates the most amazing beaded jewelry AND custom crystal shoes!  And Kathleen Hertel, of Kathleen Hertel Photography, takes wonderful engagement and wedding photos.  She's also responsible for all of the pictures above!  If you'd like to visit any of their websites, they are listed in the My Favorites tab at the top of this site!

Chantel is the third model from the right and responsible for hand-making each of these custom wedding gowns!! She's amazingly talented and I hope to work with her again!

Sparkly bouquet

This bouquet was designed by Lisa Sommer, of Petals and Promises, LLC, and created by me!  This is, by far, the biggest bouquet I've worked on!  I enjoyed the new techniques I learned by using new flowers!  See the little white flowers with sequins in them?  Those are stephanotis--so delicate that you have to use gloves to handle them.  They smell AMAZING!
